S8700 ProductID

My boss ask me to setup a S8700 media server. However after i read from the S8700 pre-install manual, to complete the installation i need to complete the RFA and set the productID.

From the manual said, i can get the product ID via the automatic registration tools (ART) script. But i seach all around at the support.avaya.com also cannot find this tools.

Does anyone know where can i get the product ID ?

Thanks

You have to be a dealer to get the RFA.

RFA (Remote Feature Activation) is only available to Avaya and Avaya Business Partner employees. RFA is where features are turned on and the license and authentication files are generated and downloaded.

ART (Automatic Registration Tool) is only available to Avaya employees. The ART script is generated during the registration process by Avaya's Maestro computer system and the Product ID is generated by Maestro at this time. ART automatically applys the script to the S8700 servers. Business Partners receive an email of the script and must manually input the commands contained therein at a bash prompt. The Product ID is a unique number, an identifier assigned to each box for registration and maintenance purposes. Additionally, the RAS IP address is assigned by Maestro during this process.

I assume that this S8700 is an Avaya authorized purchase, is legally licensed and that you, or someone in your organization, has access to the TSO and BPCC. If not, then you're not going to get anywhere. The S8700/8500/8300/8100 series of Linux driven servers require the Avaya Authentication file (generated by RFA) within a specific run time or the system will lock out ALL users ... including Avaya and BP engineers alike. Not even the craft, inads or init passwords will work when this happens you will likely be required to ship the HD (if not the entire box) back to Avaya for re-formatting unless you are very familiar with Linux and the Communication Manager partitioning setup. I've had this happen to me on an S8700 (and I -DO- have the required accesss) and it was not pretty.
