My current Definity G3si is on the 4th floor of one of my buildings. We have 75 to 100 folks moving in on the 1st floor which we currently have no presence whatsoever. I have plenty of real estate in the definity to add 75 to 100 users. My plan is to run copper feed from the Definity on the 4th floor to the IDF on the 1st floor for these users. I'm being questioned on what the distance limitation is for a copper feed off of the switch. Does anyone know?
Also, in another scenario, if I wanted to throw an EPN in that area via fiber-what is the fiber distance limitations? Thanks in advance! |

Re: Distance limitations
ko-glass, early and G3Rtech:
Thanks much for your help. I also looked it up in the Definity System Description 555-233-200 book. Your right on the money. Thanks to all! In addtion if anyone is interested, the fiber option was really long. For example, if you were to branch an EPN off via Single mode fiber you could go up to 22 miles! Thanks again, This is a gtreat Forum! |
