Avaya Modular Messaging

Anyone installed any of these systems yet? Im doing one right now and ran into a problem with the MWI service.

Im using QSIG integration into an S8700 with two t1 boards. Ive got the Messaging service to pick up, but just having problems with the secondary trunk group for MWI. The trunk says it is in service, but the MWI lights are not coming up. Anyone got any helpful information on this?

I am not familiar with Modular Messaging, however, you might check your voicemail settings. If everything else is correct with your processing channel assignments, then make sure you have the correct switch number allocated in the vmail box. I have had trouble with that in the past. It's very easy to overlook.

Ok I found the problem. Turns out that the service pack 5 I installed during the installation didnt upgrade all the neccessary files. After I ran it again, voila. MWI came on like a dream. The thing that gets me is that the original installation came back and said all files were done successfully. :/

Everything so far has been working like a dream. Text to speech is working flawlessly, and so has the faxserver. Auto attendants are a little tricky to setup.. Avaya really needs to give better documentation on using Caller Applications. It can be quite tricky when you first set the attendants up.

One thing I do recommend is to make sure you get your Modular Messaging planning forms done and blessed by avaya. Theres a crapload of passwords for different services and you could easily get confused on which ones the installation document is asking for.
