Question Call Forwarding

On my Definity G3Si V8 when I do 'disp feat' my call forwarding codes are *2 to activate and #2 to de-activate.

If the call fwding button is used on the phone, this works fine. If you try doing *2 I receive error tone after I enter in 2 digits following that code.

You might want to check the Class of Service (COS) of that phone. It's possible the COS does not allow CALL FWD-ALL CALLS.

sounds more like you dont have permission to call the number you are forwarding to.
the feature would wave you off after pressing *2 if it was invalid

So the button works versus the code forwarding to the exact same number?

Re: Call Forwarding

Exactly.. if the button is present on the phone, I can forward. If I just grab dialtone and hit *2XX I get wave off.

Then I agree with jroselle...

Re: Call Forwarding

Is your dial plan set up correctly? For example, do you have fac in the * portion of the DP under -2- for length? If so, do you have another fac under -4-?

That second FAC is where the problem is. You will need to settle on one method or the other as the system is confused.

Re: Call Forwarding

Bernard is right. If the station has console permision in the COS, then the procedure to activate the CallFrwd feature is *2 (Extension Number) (Destination Number). After you pressed the *2 the system is waiting for an extenion number and since you are dialing a number which is not an extenion number in the dialplan....it gives you an illegal tone
