Re: Ace
:shame: I am about to proceed with VoIP in late 2006 with an AVAYA solution and have money budgeted for travel and classes and would like to persue ACA. Can you put me on the right track for this? I have been to and currenly have a login on AVAYA University but I would like for some who currently has the certification to get me started. Thanks in advanced for your help.

Re: Ace
Look at the online courses at Avaya U for the cert you are wanting to get, click on the "Prepare Me" button. Take the assessments for the courses first because those are free and they will show you what you need to spend the most time on.
If you pass the assessment, you will get credit for the course. You can actually get some ACA certificates without spending anytime in a classroom, but it is very hard if you have no hands on experience with the equipment. You will take two monitored tests at a controlled test site, no hands on just click buttons on a computer screen. One is a general knowledge test that has a lot of questions about IP networking and one test on the specialty you are trying for. You can take the tests in any order and do not have to take them on the same day. Good luck and keep in mind that the first certificate is the hardest one, it gets easier after that.
