I had this.. the only way to do this is back up your persist.dat file and start over.. also, I had to install Java from Integrated management.. in other words, start over.. I also applied a 2.1UU13 patch (something like that anyway) after 2.1.1...

sO I too had 2.1.1, but yet was receiving an error.. "please install 2.1.1.." etc.
