Avaya network issues

I have communication issues with the Avaya , I get slow config downloads, sometimes it won't load back and corrupts the config on the Avaya so I have to upload the config. I also get packet loss when I ping the avaya. This happens a few times a week if I make several changes to the config (new Directory numbers etc)

I'm not sure if this is related but I get voicemails recorded that sound like a CD that is skipping or a clipped message that misses words.

I have Avaya IP403 v2.1 (27)
Manager 4.1 (15)
Voicemail Pro v2.1 (5)

We are running a 10mb lan, but it's not heavily utilised, ping times are always <10ms

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Our supplier suggested patching the voicemail server through the lan ports on the avaya, but we also use this as a file server (with no problems, 2gb memory 4 XEON processors)) so I don't want to do this; if it's the Avaya having the networking issues.

Regards

Tony
