Sorry for the delay in response (I took a mini-vacation). The change I made was the Service Type on the first page of the trunk-group configuration. Among the possible choices are public-ntwrk, operator, dmi-mos, access, accunet, ...).

The other piece was figuring out which ds1 protocol worked with the service provider's set-up. The Protocal Type (a,b,c, or d) is under the ds1 configuration.
