Thumbs up Re: CCC Server Requirements

Hi Carl,

Thanks for the info.
So, you're running CCC quite happily under Windows 2000 (Not Server) ?

Would you mind answering a few more questions ?
- How many users do you have accessing CCC ?
- Do you reboot your CCC machine every month or so ? (if it were a memory leak causing the crash this should fix it)
- If that were the case I'd be happy to run CCC and Voicemail Lite together and just reboot as part of the month end procedure.

I did have trouble with Delta Server hanging quite frequently, but thanks to another thread on this forum found that I just needed to upgrade the executable to a newer version.

I read up on Microsoft's licensing and found that I was indeed misinformed about the support of other servers. Then again, nothing Microsoft do would shock me (unless they go open source !).
In addition it seems SQL can no longer be installed to another box under the SBS license (almost shocked).

The limitations of MSDE on a desktop are probably overcome if CCC communicates locally with MSDE and then uses DCOM or RPC to talk to clients.

I'll give CCC a try on a W2K machine and let y'all know how I get on.

Cheers.

Dave.
