Too cheap for a CD player?? They are giving away the portable ones in cornflakes boxes now aren't they? Just kidding - but they are frequently less than $50. Certainly no more than for a decent quality digital tuning radio as you were earlier suggesting.
Ask them how much it's worth to them to avoid having a customer hang up and call someone else 'cause they got tired of listening to static on hold?
