if you want the IPO to authenticate connections then you will need the modem card.

you can route the call to a modem pool on a server PC & let that handle the connections if you prefer ( that requires the PC configuring correctly & is outside my area of expertise).

Once you have a data connection set up you should be able to use any IPO faciluties, Phone manager, Manager, Moitor etc. depending on the firewall configuation of the host server
