1) No. Nothing to stop you from having a second unit configured exactly the same onsite though. Your Manager PC will always have the latest config, so if the primary control unit failed you could have the backup unit installed and loaded with the current config in under 10 minutes (assuming you are already onsite).
2) It does not provide POE directly off it's LAN ports, no. You can install the power supplies for IP Hardphones in the data closet though. But, that's only limiting you for a maximum of 8 ports anyway. You uplink to a Cajun P333 w/POE and yer off to the races for most of your phones.
