What does it give you to get these certs? How do you get them?

Good questions! You may find many answers here: http://www.avaya-learning.com/ but in a nutshell the Avaya certifications are telephony and networking standards, that is mainly the "entry level" cert of ACACN. There are 2 others, one for implementation and one for design that are more specific to Avaya products but still get into some industry standard type stuff. As far as value goes, it is the equivalent of a Cisco certification in the data world but with telephony. Hope that helps...the Avaya University page is actualy pretty decent and the Avaya certs are worldwide, not just US specific.
