Re: ASA via Dialup

Here are my notes on creating a Dialup Network Connection

Setup Definity Login for Modem:
1. Add login (varies based on CM version)
2. Type - Customer
3. Service Level - Remote
4. User Name: ???
5. Password: ???
On computer setup VPN connections:
1. Open Network Connections
2. Create New Connection
3. Choose "Connect to the Network at my Workplace"
4. Choose "Dial-up Connection"
5. Name the connection
6. Phones number (include 9, if needed)
7. Choose "anyone's use"
8. Choose "finish"

Open the properties of the connection just built above:
1. OPTIONS tab: Uncheck "Prompt for name and password, certificate, etc.
2. SECURTIY tab: Check "Show terminal Window"
3. NETWORKING: Uncheck "NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS…."
4. NETWORKING: Uncheck "Client for Microsoft Networks"
5. NETWORKING: Uncheck "Client Service for NetWare"

Setup Avaya Site Admin with New Site Connection:
1. Setup new Network connection
2. IP adress of the processor
3. Port 5023
4. Dadmin login and password

Connect to the system using the Dial Up VPN:
1. Double click on the VPN icon and hit dial.
2. Login with the modem login - "modem"
3. Use the modem password - "modem01"
4. After you see "Start PPPnow!" hit "DONE"
Now you can use Avaya site admin with the Processor IP address
Or use IE and put the IP Address in the address bar to get to the linux menu.

Hope this helps.
