Did you try setting MM to NOT use the PC sound card? This option will send the audio over a voice line to your phone.

If listening via the PC sound card, then yes the audio is over the LAN/WAN. Be sure the T1s and your network are configured to support QOS, FAX and VoIP. Ask your network guys for advise.
