Angry Message Manager error: cannot communicate with server

I have 2 locations, 2 switches sharing 1 intuity audix. I have 2 T-1s going between the locations 1/2 of one of the T-1s is dedicated to voice traffic, the other 1 1/2 T1s is for minimal lan (Data)traffic (mostly nightly backups).

When running Avaya's Message Manager at the remote location, trying to listen or save a voice mail to file or trying to view a fax it will attempt to receive and i will hear part of the message but it will always fail saying it cannot communicate with the server and ask me to retry or exit.

When listening to voicemail over my phone (from the remote location) I never have a problem. The problem happens when using message manager to play over the sound card, save the VM to a file OR receive a fax.

Can anyone help me isolate where the problem may be?? It seems to me that message manager is sending it over the LAN segment and having problems...just a guess.
