AT-DEBUG not working

Hello All,

I am pretty new to the whole IP Office scene and have been pretty frustrated since I've started working with the equipment. I took the Avaya IP Office Standard and Professional Training in Highland Colorado to get more familiar with things but I am still a little rusty. Here is what I am up against.

We got a new (refurbished) IP office Small Office Edition unit from a vendor over the internet and we could not connect to the unit via IP address using Manager 3.2. I cannot get the mac address so I decided to DTE into the unit. This did not seem like a big deal after taking the classes and since the unit could have some weird configuration I thought it would be best to get it to factory defaults. I did the whole series of AT commands:
AT
"OK"
AT-X2
"Sector 2 Erase (NV Config)
AT-X3
"Sector 3-5 Erase (Config)
OK (3)
OK (4)
OK (5)"

After this I rebooted the IPO SOE and plugged my laptop lan into Lan 1 on the IPO and set the following static IP Information on my laptop:
IP Address: 192.168.42.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.42.1 (I also tried it ending in 10)

Preferred DNS Server: (I left all this blank)

I cannot ping my IPO at either 192.168.42.1 or 192.168.42.10.

Frustrated I went back to the DTE port and did an AT-X to erase everything. After reading multiple forums I thought it best to try and enter debug mode and did the following:
AT
"OK"
AT-DEBUG
""
AT
"OK"

The AT-DEBUG would not respond with anything. I need to get into DEBUG mode so I can get the system information such as IP Address and Mac Address. I have also read some posts that say I won't be able to connect to a defaulted IPO SOE unit with 3.2 software since the system software will be at 2.0 on the unit. I cannot find any 2.1 software out there that should work with this unit.

I am appealing to the IP Office gurus out there for some assistance. I appreciate any information you can offer. I have already learned tons reading through your forums and hope to get to a point where I can contribute back to this awesome community.

Thanks,

bhileman
