Depends on WHICH connection you're talking about. The Corporate LAN connection to your S8xx0 PBX is only for maintenance and administration (ASA, Maintenance Web Interface, etc.) so you are correct in that disconnecting THOSE links wouldn't be a problem. SAme with the VAL. It only uses the ethernet link to upload/download .wav files and for firmware upgrades.

However, your MedPro's and CLANS, etc. are horses of different colors. Their actual function is DESINGED to work via ethernet so removal of their link could have a negative impact on service if something/someone requires the resources that they provide at the time you disconnect them.
