S8700's have three (3) IP Addresses: 1 for Server A, 1 for Server B and 1 for the active server. If you are worried about loosing your CLAN connection while moving an ethernet connection, set ASA to the active server connection, port 5023.

Setting up DIAL-IN access to an S8xx0 server is a multi-step process. First you have to create a RAS login: "add login whatever" login type "remote." Then you create a RAS network connection from your PC to the RAS modem. The server will issue you an IP address that is usually one higher than it's own RAS IP ... i.e. if you do an ip config and your address is 10.23.24.6 then the RAS IP (the address you need to point ASA at) is 10.23.24.5 (port 5023).

I have attached a PDF on creating a RAS connection to an Intuity Audix LX ... the procedure is almost identical for S8xx0 servers.

Yes ... as long as the network switch is in the same subnet, VLAN, etc. and no network configuration or physical connectivity would prevent the CLAN's or their IPs to reach their intended destination.
