Re: Asa

To set ASA for dial in assign the dial in number and what com port you are using. Everything else you can leave default.

Let's talk about your network change for a minute. I no longer install systems for Avaya and the last time I did, CM3 was just going GA. So it is possible things have changed but I don't believe so. Al can correct me if I am wrong. When I stopped installing systems every device in the PBX that had an IP address had a static address, DHCP was not used.

Is the new network switch in the same LAN? Does use the same address range? What are your CLAN cards? Do they require the ports in the network server to be locked to 10M/half duplex or can they function at 100M/full duplex?

To ping something, start up ASA and log into the PBX. Type "ping" and press help and you will be stepped through the process of pinging something. Ask your network guys for the IP address of something currently working in the new switch. The PBX will give a pass if you can ping it. If you can ping it then you are lucky. All you have to deal with is what is in the paragraph above this one. If you can't ping it, then there are more issues.
