More to Marty's point and specifics to make it work:

The public-unknown-numbering stuff works a lot like the ARS and Dialplan analysis tables in that it will find the MOST CORRECT match for a given extension. ... i.e. your DID range is 999-555-3000 thru 3999 with your main number being 3000. You've probably configured the public-unknown-numbering table for length 4 and matching pattern 3 to send 999555 with a CPN length of 10. That would append the 4-digit extension number onto the end of 999555. BUT, if Mr. Bossman at Ext 3500 doesn't want his extension number going out then make a new entry of length 4, matching pattern 3500 and put the FULL main number (9995553000) in the CPN field. The PBX will find the MOST CORRECT MATCH (in this case 3500) and THAT's where the CPN information will come from.
