Let me paint you a picture of eCAS:
Imagine, if you will, a cool tranquil island a with turquoise-blue lagoon at the base of a sparkling waterfall. Next to the lagoon is a small grass hut with an elegant hand painted sign on the door ... it says, eCAS, and your Avaya Travel Agent (aka AE) assures you that only the finest linens adorn the gold-leaf, four post beds and honey-wine flows freely from the faucets. After all, you've paid TOP DOLLAR for this vacation and you expect the very best. You reach for the shiny doorknob and it turns with ease. Your palms sweat with anticipation as you open the door.
As soon as the door opens you realize your purchase: stacks upon stacks of hundred dollar bills with wings attached to them and the presense of mind to begin to fly away throught the open windows as soon as you enter ... never to be seen again.
Don't bother with eCAS or ANY OTHER BEEFED UP CALL ACCOUNTING SYSTEM. SMDR records are small and are sent at the end of each and every call. Your current system will do just fine ... but if you absolutely feel that you HAVE to spend money on another CDR reporting system take a look at Tappit or some other cost effective solution.
