Is Survivability in Analog PBX systems possible?

Hi,

I came across very interesting question from one of my Client on the above. When i was explaining the benefits of IPT migration, i narrated that ENterprise Survivability is possible in IP Enabled system like S87XX systems. If a server is down, then IP Phones will automatically register to the other Gateway connected to ESS or Survivable server at other location.

Customer questioned me if the same possible in TDM systems also? and also asked if Digital Phones too can get connected in the same way? Is there any technology can do the same?

I don't know how far this question is correct?

Any Help on this please?

With regards
