I use ASA. Set up a PC, the older the better and run ASA 24/7/365. Under the fault and preformance tab there are some reports that you can schedule to run every X minutes (I use every 10). Monitor alarms and Monitor Trunks. I have been doing this for about 1 year now and it works awesome. When there is an issue I get sent an email which is sent to my blackberry. Then I am able to log in a fix a problem.
