Peripheral hardware manufacturers never really got away from the idea of using 'switchtype' instead of 'protocol version' but in their world they mean one in the same.

So yes, on the Polycom the value you need to set is switchtype, but it's not going to be the same as the one on the DS1 form. The protocol used on a DS1 defines the message set used on that DS1 - and for no other devices.

You need to match the Polycom to the TN566. As I said previously, I don't know if you can actually set the protocol on the TN566... we don't have one at our location so I can't pull up the page, and I haven't been able to find any instructions on the web. But if you are prompted for SPIDs when programming your card, it's probably using National ISDN.
