You basically only need Remote Desktop access to the VM server, but you will want your IP Office on the same network as your PCs if you install Phone Manager (Lite[free]/Pro/VoIP[iPro]) IP hard phones, or the Soft Console/eConsole.

Your PBX and VM server should have IP addresses and connectivity to your LAN that your PC are on. Was there a reason you didn't connect it originally? Most install techs should have set this up for you originally.
