Re: Denial Event 1103: ISDN call rejected

Avaya has a very good book explaining ISDN denial events. It is publication number 03-300430 which you can download. Do not let the fact that it says it is for CM3 bother you, it applies to all ISDN issues for any release.

According to that book denial event 1103 is -

Tone Detector connect fail - Cannot connect tone detector for trunk terminated call. Silent Reorder.

What does that mean in english? That is explained in the Event Data 2 entry (which was not provided or I could have explained the problem), that is the actual cause of the problem. That entry is in hex and must be converted to decimal to find the "Cause Value" and then looked up on a chart in that book. It does help if you know how to convert between hex, binary and decimal.

This process is explained beginning on page 128. If my copy of this book were on paper rather than pdf, it would be badly dogeared by now.

If you want the answer without having to learn how to interpret, just post the denial event here along with the Event Data 1 and 2 entries. Test it a few times to make sure the Event Data 2 entry is the same each time, if it is not provide all the samples.
