I assume the trunk group carrier type is IP.
How are the ISDN parameters set on the route pattern (bottom half of the screen)?
I also assume you know that DCS will not work to a Nortel, the best you will get is UDP.
Since the Nortel is not a public CO switch, try a connect type of PBX which will open up another field to work with.
Last, DS1 protocol "a" is NI1. I do not have my notes in front of me but I believe Nortel uses protocol "c".

Avaya has published some white papers on connecting to a Nortel switch. Check their support web site for any docs about this.
This is an ISDN/PRI, not IP, trunk group. I've got lot's of PRIs connected to this particular switch, we do use the 'a' protocol on the DS1 config with no problem. I realize we won't be using DCS, I mentioned it just as an example. I will try setting the connect field to PBX, I wasn't sure if that was proper or not.
